The smart wearables market is booming, thanks in part to the irresistible bargains offered by Chinese brands. realme, in particular, has established itself as a go-to brand for affordable yet high-quality audio products. The latest addition to their lineup is the realme Buds T300, and we put them through their paces to see if they live up to the hype.
Unboxing
Design and Build Quality
The realme Buds T300 are the spitting image of the AirPods Pro, except for a few minor tweaks. The cases are practically identical in size and shape, and the white colour of the earbuds we received only accentuates the resemblance. The similarity carries over inside as well, with the most noticeable difference being that the earbuds are slightly less curvy than the AirPods.
We like what realme did with the inside of the case, adding a splash of color to the otherwise stark “Youth White” design. The earbuds themselves are made of a smooth, glossy plastic that feels comfortable in the ear. The fit is snug but not too tight, and the earbuds didn’t fall out during our testing, even during exercise.
Sound Quality
The realme Buds T300 sound surprisingly good for the price. The bass is punchy and the highs are clear, without being too harsh. The mids are a little recessed, but this isn’t too noticeable in most music genres. The overall soundstage is wide and spacious, making them a good choice for listening to a variety of music genres.
Call Quality
Call quality is also good. The earbuds have two microphones per earbud, which help to reduce background noise and make your voice sound clear. We didn’t experience any call drops during our testing, and the other person on the line said we sounded clear and easy to understand.
Features
The realme Buds T300 support a few useful features, including:
- Active Noise Cancellation (ANC): ANC does a decent job of blocking out ambient noise, but it’s not as effective as some of the more expensive ANC earbuds.
- Transparency Mode: Transparency mode allows you to hear your surroundings without having to take the earbuds out of your ears.
- Touch Controls: The earbuds have touch controls that allow you to control music playback, answer calls, and activate ANC/transparency mode.

realme Link
The realme Link app provides comprehensive control over the realme earbuds, enabling us to tailor our listening experience. The app’s intuitive interface and extensive customization options make it a valuable tool for realme earbud users.
The realme Link app greets you with a simple and easy-to-navigate interface, making it effortless to manage your earbuds’ settings. At a glance, you can view the remaining battery life of each earbud, ensuring you’re always aware of their power status.
The app allows you to customize the touch controls on your earbuds, assigning specific actions to each gesture. Additionally, a variety of sound effect modes, noise control options, spatial audio, volume enhancers, and game modes are available to fine-tune your listening experience according to your needs. While the realme Link app excels in many aspects, it falls short in one area: displaying the charging case’s battery level. This omission can be inconvenient, as it requires physically checking the case to determine its remaining power.
Battery Life
realme claims that the Buds T300 can last up to 7 hours on a single charge. In our testing, we found that they could last for about 6 hours with ANC turned on. The case can provide an additional 24 hours of battery life, so you shouldn’t have to worry about running out of juice.
