Want a new gaming console this holiday season? Look no further because PlayStation 5 is getting a makeover this year.
Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially announced the 2023 PS5 models, which comes with horizontal stands and 1TB storage. SIE boasts that this year’s version has a reduced volume of over 30%. To get a better idea, check the weight and dimension comparisons below.

According to SIE, the new PS5 has four separate cover panels with the top part having a glossy look and the bottom still in matte. If you initially bought the PS5 Digital Edition, you don’t have to worry about a dedicated disc drive.
An Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive will become available later, sold separately for ₱4,537.31 ($79.99). This is attachable to the aforementioned edition.
Apart from that, buying this year’s model will get you the horizontal stand. However, the vertical stand will be sold separately for ₱1,701.14 ($29.99). It’s compatible with all PS5 models.
If you’re tired of the same color scheme, SIE will launch PS5 Console Covers which come with various colors, including Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Sterling Silver. These covers are sold separately for ₱3,119.23 ($54.99) apiece. More colors will arrive later.

The new PS5 console will arrive in the US this November and direct.playstation.com. It will continue to roll out worldwide.
The PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive costs ₱28,361.18 ($499.99) at launch, while the PS5 Digital Edition costs ₱25,525.01 ($449.99).
This will be the only PS5 model available once the current one has sold out.
