Three Chinese brands are already lined up for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC.
Qualcomm has a lot on schedule this year. Not only is the tech giant launching a chipset lineup for portable computers, but it’s also unveiling the next-generation mobile processor.
As expected, the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is set for announcement later this year, probably during the Snapdragon Summit just like last year. But which device will debut this new chipset?
On X, a tipster reveals the first-bearer and second-bearers of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor. The first devices powered by this chipset are Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, following the pattern of the Xiaomi 14 series. The second recipients will be the OnePlus 13 and iQOO 13.
Surprised? Qualcomm and Xiaomi have an exclusive deal. However, not all of these devices may get a global release. If the Xiaomi 14 Pro didn’t get one, the Xiaomi 15 Pro may not get one as well.
While the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is getting the attention from these brands, some are anticipating its possible biggest contender this year: the Exynos 2500.
The Exynos 2500 is reported to have two variants with the higher model featuring 10 cores. Its predecessor, Exynos 2400, has been great so far and if the trend continues, Samsung may finally achieve solid ground on mobile processors.
In relation to that, a tipster on X claims that the Exynos 2500 is more efficient than its predecessor. A user replied that SD 8 Gen 4 is currently suffering from heating problems.
