These Three Phones Are Overpriced! Here is why

When ranking a smartphone on the tier list, we pay attention to the design, specs, and most importantly, the price. Some look good and perform well but have a steep price. This is why these three phones are overpriced according to our own ranking

Nokia C12

The Nokia C12 is criticized for being overpriced due to its weak processor and micro USB port (instead of Type-C). It also has a 3,000mAh battery that may struggle to last a full day with heavy usage. Despite these drawbacks, Nokia’s reputation for producing durable phones with solid support makes it a viable option for those on a tight budget.

Fortunately, Nokia has reduced its price from PHP4,590 to a more affordable PHP3,990, making it a more attractive choice for consumers seeking a reliable phone at a reasonable price point.

OPPO A78

At a price of around PHP14,999, the OPPO A78 is one of the overpriced devices in the mid-range segment. Comparable devices such as the POCO X5 and other options on our tier list offer significantly more value at a similar price point.

Despite being a 5G-capable phone, the OPPO A78 is essentially an entry-level device with an entry-level chipset. It is basically similar to last year’s Cherry Mobile Aqua S10 Pro which costs around PHP 7,000.

The device also features only an IPS LCD display with a waterdrop notch, which is not up to par for the asking price. While the phone’s appearance may be attractive, there are numerous other devices on the market that offer better features and performance for less money.

OPPO Reno8 T

While the OPPO Reno8 T boasts a microscope camera feature that performs well, the device fails to offer any groundbreaking features or compelling reasons to justify its steep price tag of PHP 18,999.

Comparable devices such as the TECNO Pova 4 and Pro offer the same Helio G99 chipset at a much more affordable price point. They even include additional features such as an AMOLED display, 90Hz refresh rate, and 256GB of storage, all for under PHP 10,000.

Despite having good camera sensors, the OPPO Reno8 T falls short of providing enough value to persuade consumers to spend their hard-earned money on it.
