vivo is reportedly in the process of developing a new smartphone, as indicated by its appearance on the Google Play Console certification website. The listing not only unveils essential details about the device but also provides a glimpse of its render and specifications.
The smartphone, identified by the model number PD2318 on Google Play Console, is tentatively named the vivo G2, although it’s crucial to note that the actual moniker may differ as Vivo currently lacks any G-series smartphones in its lineup.
Highlighted by the model number PD2318, the render showcases a display with a center-aligned punch-hole cutout and a slightly thicker chin. The back panel features a square camera module housing two sensors, and the device is presented in a Blue color option. The design bears resemblance to the Y78 (t1) and Y78m (t1).
According to the certification details, the Vivo G2 is equipped with a MediaTek MT6833 processor, featuring two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores operating at 2GHz. A Mali G57 GPU is incorporated into the setup. This chipset configuration aligns with the MediaTek Dimensity 700, which has been rebranded as Dimensity 6020. The upcoming device will boast 6GB of RAM and will come pre-installed with the Android 13 operating system.
It’s worth recalling that the vivo Y78 (t1) and Y78m (t1) were launched in China in October of the previous year, both powered by the Dimensity 6020 chipset. As per the certification listing, the vivo G2 is expected to feature the same chipset. Further details about the vivo G2 are anticipated to be revealed in the coming days.
