Xiaomi 12T Unboxing and First Impressions

The Xiaomi 12T is the successor of the Xiaomi 11T and it was recently launched along with the Xiaomi 12T Pro which is the more advanced version of the 12T series. Here is our quick and honest review of our unboxing and first impressions on this phone.

The Xiaomi 12T is considered to be a flagship killer due to the fact that it as so many flagship features but still falls in the mid range if you consider the price. Here is why

Packaging

The phone comes in a thick white box with a Xiaomi branding in Rose Gold color. On the bottom part of the box is where you get all the details specs of the device. As you go in, you see the phone itself along with a a 6A-rated USB-A-to-C cable and a 120W power adapter. Included in the box is also some paper work along with a warrant card, a soft transparent case within the paper compartment, while the phone itself comes with a thin protective film over the screen which also has the general specs of the phone

Design

The Xiaomi 12T has a sizable screen and a straightforward design, so it looks like any other standard glass smartphone. I must admit it generally feels premium compared to some smartphones its price range. It has a Gorilla Glass 5 screen and is dust and mild splash resistant to IP53 standards.

The phone has two Dolby Atmos loud speakers which efficiently distribute sound across the device. The sound can be described as loud and decently clear. The Xiaomi 11T’s side-mounted fingerprint scanner has been replaced by an under-display fingerprint sensor.

Display

From 1080p on the 11T and 12, the display resolution has increased to 1220p, and the dynamic refresh rate is 120Hz. While using it, you can really feel the quickness of the screen as you switch from one App to another. The AMOLED display gives it that extra sharpness and bump in resolution compared to the previous 11T. This also means that the color accuracy is quite spectacular as well. It also comes pre-installed with a screen protector right from the box which I think is a good thing and some companies should definitely learn to do as well.

Performance

One of the best non-flagship chipsets available is the Dimensity 8100, and Xiaomi has tweaked it, giving it the name 8100-Ultra. The phone can handle multiple tasks without lagging or overheating. There is a bonus feature when it comes to gaming. The Xiaomi 12T has a side configuration called the GAMETURBO where you can monitor your current games , manage the memory usage and easily free up space or close apps without having to leave the game.

Additionally there is also a feature where you can just click to boost your device performance to avoid lag issues even when the Ultra HD is on. The big 5,000mAh battery and the lightning-quick 120W rapid charging are also great features. And as part of the retail package, the phone does come with a 120W power adaptor. Surprisingly, using the PCMark battery life test, the 5,000mAh battery in the 12T will provide us a reasonably lengthy battery life.

Camera

An improved 108MP Samsung HM6 sensor with OIS lens is now part of the camera. The 8MP captures the ultrawide shots. This 2MP macro decrease is kind of disappointing considering that both the 12 and the 11T have 5MP telemacro cameras with AF.

Pricing and Availability

Priced at incredible levels for a flagship series, the new Xiaomi 12T costs Php 26,999. It is accessible through Home Credit on flexible, 0% interest installment plans for up to 18 months. Additionally, from November 18 to November 29, anyone who pre-orders will receive a free Xiaomi S1 Active watch valued Php 8,999.

Conclusion

After this unboxing experience, three things which were the main highlight were: a premium display, a very high-res camera, and blazing fast charging. The Xiaomi 12T is an amazing midrange smartphone which actually has a lot of flagship features thus making it super worth the price
