Xiaomi Suiren leaks: SD 8 Gen 3, 16GB RAM, successor of 2021’s Xiaomi Mix 4?

Xiaomi marked a groundbreaking moment as the pioneer OEM to launch smartphones featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform, with the notable releases of the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro. Following suit, the Redmi K70 Pro joined the lineup, with anticipation building for the upcoming Xiaomi 14 Ultra to also integrate this cutting-edge chip.

Xiaomi Mix 4, the supposed predecessor

However, recent developments have unveiled a mysterious Xiaomi handset with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset on the Geekbench platform. Codenamed Suiren, this enigmatic smartphone pairs the advanced chipset with an impressive 16GB of RAM and operates on the Android 14 operating system. The Geekbench scores showcase its prowess with 2336 points in the single-core test and an impressive 6837 points in the multi-core test, leaving enthusiasts eagerly awaiting further details about this intriguing product.

Drawing insights from Xiaomi’s smartphone lineup, speculations arise that Suiren might be a new addition to the Mix series. The last iteration, Mix 4, made its debut in 2021, leaving room for speculation about whether the upcoming device will adopt the Mix 5 nomenclature or introduce a new naming convention. Notably, the Mix series has become synonymous with cutting-edge technology, particularly incorporating under-display camera technology.

The Xiaomi Mix 4, released in 2021, boasts a remarkable 10-bit 6.67-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels (FHD+), a 120Hz refresh rate, and Dolby Vision support. Beneath the display lies a discreet 20MP selfie camera. Powering the Mix 4 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus chip, coupled with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

On the rear, the Mix 4 sports a triple-camera system featuring a 108MP primary sensor with OIS assistance, a 13MP ultrawide unit, and an 8MP shooter with 5x periscope zoom capability. Additional highlights include dual stereo speakers, an in-screen fingerprint sensor, and a robust 4,500mAh battery supporting 120W wired and 50W wireless charging standards.

As we await more information about the Xiaomi Suiren, it is anticipated that certification agencies’ websites and reputable leakers such as Digital Chat Station will shed light on the upcoming device in the coming days. The evolution of Xiaomi’s Mix series, known for pushing technological boundaries, is undoubtedly a space to watch closely.
