iPhone 15 will use a better Sony camera sensor

Sony is synonymous to cameras and lenses, and their market sales for their smartphones are less than 1%, meanwhile Apple is basking on its glory

There have been numerous reports about the iPhone 15 series over the past few weeks. This series will include many “new” features and designs, which is why it is so popular. The upcoming iPhone will have a significantly better camera sensor, according to recent sources.

According to the rumor, Sony is developing a brand-new, extremely potent camera sensor for the iPhone 15. Nikkei Asia claims that Sony has a new camera sensor that can capture more light than the one it previously had. Thank you for the relevant design architecture modification.

As a result, this new sensor might produce accurate results, particularly in low-light situations.

Sony Semiconductor Solutions is creating a new camera sensor, and it will be made at a Japanese factory. Then, Apple and other manufacturers of mobile phones will receive this sensor. According to the article, Sony modified the new CMOS chip’s design in some ways.

The photodiodes and transistors for the sensor are placed on various levels of the substrate thanks to changes made to the chip’s architectural design. The transistors don’t occupy any space on the sensor’s top level as a result. As a result, there is significantly more room to add more photodiodes.

The Nikkei Asia article did not specify if Apple would be the first mobile phone manufacturer to incorporate the new Sony sensor into its products. The new sensor is most likely going to debut on an Android handset initially.

Before the September 2015 debut of the iPhone 15, a large number of Android smartphones will be available. But like in recent years, we anticipate that Apple’s software optimization will be excellent.

It is currently unknown whether the new CMOS chip will be used in every iPhone 15 model. As far as we are aware, Apple only employs cutting-edge technology in its top models.

What the sensor will be able to provide is still unknown. It will only be significantly better than what we already know, that much is all we can say.
