EA pulls the plug on Apex Legends Mobile, Battlefield Mobile won’t progress outside of beta after cancellation

Well, we still have 90 days to play with Apex Legends Mobile, but what’s even the point? And don’t get us started on Battlefield: Mobile who will be stuck in a perpetual mud quality graphics

APEX Legends Mobile was originally released on PC and Console in March 2022. However, the game will end after just eight months. You can still play it for 90 days but what’s the point?

“Although disappointing, we are appreciative of the game we launched, we are grateful for the support of the Apex Legends community, and we are confident that this is the right decision for players”, said Respawn on their website.

Along with that, the in-game real-money store for the mobile version is being shut down by the developers, and the game will no longer be available on any digital stores. EA and Respawn will not be issuing any refunds for in-game purchases made during the game’s eight-month lifespan, even though it will still be completely playable for the following three months.

It’s also important to note that the shutdown only affects the mobile version; all other platforms will continue to function normally.

According to a separate EA report, the company is also scrapping its rumored Battlefield Mobile release because “the industry has evolved.” Plans have changed, and the developer will now veer away from its current course in order to best realize its goals for the franchise.

The company went on to say that Battlefield 2042, the most recent game in the series, was still in development and that pre-production for the next Battlefield game had already begun.
