For quite some time, there has been a bunch of folding phones and laptops on the market. Apple has been conspicuously absent from this market, but it appears that it is now creating a fairly intriguing foldable.
Given its size, it can’t possibly be a folding phone; instead, the Korean publication speculates that it might be a Macbook with a foldable screen. It implies that when folded, the device might have a 15.3-inch display, about comparable to a laptop.
What makes more sense : A foldable Phone or a foldable laptop?
Though it wouldn’t be the first time, a laptop with a folding screen has been seen before. The first laptop with a folding display was the X1 Fold from Lenovo, which was released in 2020. Then, early this year, it provided an improved model with a 16.3-inch screen when unfolded and a 12-inch display when used as a laptop. Additionally, Asus earlier this year introduced the Zenbook 17 Fold, which features a 17.3-inch screen when opened up and a 12.5-inch panel when folded into laptop mode.
A foldable gadget to replace the iPad Mini series is also being developed by Apple, according to The Elec, with a 2025 planned release date. In any case, it appears that the firm will be more later to the foldable party than companies like Samsung. However, we’re still interested in how a future Apple foldable will be different from the competition.
How much will it cost?
Just for reference, since its release, the ThinkPad X1 Fold’s price has decreased significantly, although it is still more over Php 77,000. The recent launched ASUS Zenbook Fold 17 OLED was priced at Php 198,000. Based on the reputation and pricing of basic apple products, the price of such a masterpiece could defintely blow through the roof.
The biggest question is would you ever consider buying a foldable MacBook ?
