MediaTek is on Top

This company took the lead in the final quarter of 2023, supplying processors for more smartphones than any other competitor. They even saw impressive growth of 21% compared to the same period last year.

Apple Makes the Most Money

While Mediatek might be in the lead for units sold, Apple remains the king of profits. iPhones, with their unique processors designed by Apple itself, generated a whopping $87 billion in revenue for the company, even though they sold fewer phones compared to the previous quarter.

Hidden Players in the Market

Interestingly, the market isn’t just dominated by big names. A Chinese company called HiSilicon also manufactures processors, mainly for their own phones like the nova 12 and Mate 60. Additionally, a smaller company named Unisoc saw significant growth (24%) in both phone sales and revenue, particularly in brands popular in emerging markets.

Samsung Faces Challenges

Phones equipped with Samsung’s own Exynos processors experienced a significant drop in sales (48%) during the last quarter. However, there’s a chance things might improve soon, as they have new phone models with powerful Exynos processors hitting the market this year.
