Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is bringing the immensely popular battle royale shooter experience to smartphones.
While Call of Duty: Mobile has enjoyed longstanding success and even hosts tournaments and world championships with substantial prize pools, it’s no surprise that Activision is eager to extend the success of their battle royale hit, Warzone, to mobile platforms. Games like Fortnite and PUBG have already demonstrated the viability of battle royale gaming on mobile devices, and Call of Duty: Mobile has previously incorporated a battle royale mode inspired by Blackout from Black Ops 4.
The existence of Warzone Mobile was initially hinted at in March 2022 when a blog entry sought developers to contribute to the mobile adaptation of Warzone. Now, the project has received an official announcement and has entered the soft launch phase in Australia, providing us with essential details about Warzone Mobile.
During CoD Next 2023, it was revealed that Warzone Mobile is slated for release in Spring 2024, a departure from the previously speculated Fall 2023 release date that had been circulating for several years.
As for system requirements, they have undergone notable changes from the alpha phase to the soft launch. Below, you’ll find the current recommended requirements for iOS and Android platforms:
- iOS: iPhone 8 or newer
- Android: Adreno 618 or superior
- Memory: 3 GB RAM or better
It’s worth noting that further graphical enhancements and optimizations may occur during the soft launch and beyond, potentially leading to adjustments in system requirements for the global release.
