The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max are rumored to be $100 more expensive than the iPhone 14 Pro pair. However, this may not be a straight price hike, as Apple is also rumored to be increasing the storage capacities of the Pro models
The iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max start at 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. According to sources, the iPhone 15 Pro models will start at 256GB and have a new top tier of 2TB storage.
This means that a 256GB iPhone 15 Pro will cost the same as a 256GB iPhone 14 Pro. However, if you want a 128GB iPhone 15 Pro, you will have to pay $100 more than the equivalent iPhone 14 Pro.
Apple has a history of playing this “shell game” with prices. For example, the cheapest iPhone in 2020 cost the same as the cheapest iPhone in 2019, but in 2020 you got an iPhone 12 mini, not the larger iPhone 12, which was $100 more expensive.
It will be interesting to see how this price hike, combined with the predictions that demand for the iPhone 15 will be lower than for the iPhone 14, will affect Apple’s sales.
It is important to note that these are just rumors at this point and nothing has been confirmed by Apple. The prices could go up, down, or stay the same. We will just have to wait and see what happens.
