realme is still undefeated at the top spot of Q4 2022

realme Philippines shared the stats for the recent data of top smartphone brands in the country for the first quarter of 2022

realme still keeps its throne of being the number one smartphone brand in the Philippines for many, many consecutive quarters (2 years to be exact) now based on the recent Canalys Q4 2022 and IDC 2022 data for the recent quarter.

The IDC chart shows realme gaining steady growth with the passing quarter, from Q1 2021 to Q1 2022. Other brands in the list including OPPO, Samsung, vivo, and the Transsion group (Itel, Tecno, and Infinix) experienced uneven results through Q4 2021 and Q1 2022.

But the Canalys data shows a different story: while realme is still at the top with a 21% market share, its annual growth decreased by -14%. OPPO, Samsung, and Xiaomi have virtually no growth within Q4 2022, but the surprise entry is Transsion with a whopping 89% annual growth, securing the second spot, and maybe it will dethrone realme in the next quarters.

What do you think about this? Is this the right direction for realme, or should they think of better ways to secure their spot at the top, Transsion is getting dangerously close to getting even…
