To commemorate International Podcast Day, Spotify unveiled new features as it solidifies its position as the leading global platform for audio podcasts
One of the noteworthy updates is the introduction of automatically generated and synchronized transcripts for podcasts. They also plan to enhance this feature in the future by enabling the inclusion of additional media in the transcripts.
With these enhancements, users can easily access the transcript by scrolling down the Now Playing View and expand it to full screen while listening to the episode.
Furthermore, Spotify has expanded its Podcast Chapters feature, facilitating easier navigation to specific topics or sections within episodes. This feature is now accessible worldwide on mobile devices through the Now Playing View.
Additionally, Spotify is revamping the Podcast Show pages, providing users with more information about podcasts before committing to listening. These pages will include descriptions, images, and episode recommendations from the creators, and users can also discover similar podcasts through the “More Like This” tab.
Notably, Spotify is also piloting an AI Voice Translation feature for podcasts, enabling real-time translation into various native languages using the podcaster’s voice.
