Thaddeus Koh – Co-founder and Head of Platform and Memberships

The event will this year focus on the future of Southeast Asia’s tech and startup ecosystem, with investment and M&A trends and high-growth industries being extremely volatile given the region’s market’s dynamic economic conditions. Over two days, more than 100 expert speakers from Echelon will share their insights on topics like Web 3.0, Southeast Asian Soonicorns and Changemakers, Future Sectors and Investment Trends, M&As, Sustainability, and Growth and Scaling. Echelon Asia Summit 2023 offers a plethora of chances for investors and startups in Southeast Asia, with the remainder of the event consisting of workshops, roundtable discussions, exhibitions, and networking.

Founders and other top executives from well-known startups and venture capital firms like Grab, Carro, Ninja Van, WeWork, Lazada, Shopback, Lalamove, Altara Ventures, Vertex Ventures, JustCo, Monk’s Hill Ventures, Golden Gate Ventures, and Jungle Ventures have previously participated in the Echelon Asia Summit.

The TOP100 Program will be back at the event, which will feature the region’s top entrepreneurs demonstrating their concepts for a chance to win the program championship. The TOP100 is a carefully chosen program created to find, highlight, and drive the next wave of burgeoning entrepreneurs. The top 25 investors will be among the 5,000 delegates who hear pitches from the finalists, who were chosen from more than 500 applicants and now represent more than 10 nations. Out of the more than 100 candidates from across the world, The SAFE STEPS D-Tech Awards will select 5 to present on the TOP100 Stage as part of the TOP100 Program.

Mohan Belani – CEO and Co-founder, e27

Five meetups throughout ASEAN, in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines, were organized by e27 in the run-up to the event to discuss regional startup ecosystems. The pandemic’s aftereffects are currently being dealt with by Southeast Asia’s high-potential startup and tech ecosystem, which is expected to grow by 4.8% in 2023 as a result of the region’s economic recovery. Despite optimistic projections, problems including inflation, interest rates, and a shifting funding environment continue.

“Over the past ten years, the tech ecosystem has expanded as a result of an abundance of investments, a push for larger rounds and greater valuations, and little attention paid to business fundamentals and long-term growth.”

“For founders and investors, the previous year has served as a useful reset and refocus, and now is a good time for the ecosystem to start over and make plans for its future development. The goal of Echelon is to talk about how the ecosystem can concentrate on important issues and develop sustainably”, according to Mohan Belani, CEO and Co-Founder of e27.
