Let’s put this into perspective using the previous model iPhone 14 Pro Max and its successor, the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Unofficial Early Specs
Early details about iPhone 15 Pro Max include a 6.7-inch screen display with 1290 x 2796 resolution, iOS 17, Apply A17 bionic (3 nm) CPU, 6-core Apple GPU, and 4852mAh battery. This monstrous unit has three storage sizes: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. Even its camera setup is off the charts with a 48MP primary shooter, 12.7MP periscope lens, and 13.4MP ultrawide lens. Since iPhone 15 Pro Max got the best hardware, users can shoot 4K video at 60FPS and even Dolby Vision HDR up to 60FPS.
At the front, a 12MP camera shooter + OIS can capture selfies with ease. This same lens can do 4K video at 60FPS as well. Apple definitely improved the wired charging rate in iPhone 15 Pro Max, now at 30w, so users can do more.
iPhone 14 Pro Max vs. iPhone 15 Pro Max
Many of the leaked specs are like “wow” but some are a bit “meh” depending on what you are after. According to leaks, iPhone 15 Pro Max only has 1.55mm display bezels, quite slimmer than the 2.17mm of its predecessor. Though it’s suggested that the thickness has been slightly increased from 7.85mm to 8.25mm.
One of the much-awaited and wanted upgrades in iPhone 15 Pro Max is its USB port. You probably know this but for those who don’t, iPhone 15 Pro Max now has a USB-C port with transfer speeds between 20GB/s and 40GB/s, a big boost from 480MB/s of the lightning port.
iPhone 15 Pro Max is the big brother of this year’s iPhone series. If you really want this “max” phone, then you’ll get a speculated exclusive camera feature. It’s called the periscope telephoto camera. If its predecessor could do up to 3x optical zoom on its telephoto camera, iPhone 15 Pro Max could do it up to 6x.
Besides that, iPhone 15 Pro Max has an even better wide-camera aperture of 1.7, compared to the 1.79 of its predecessor. This means that the smaller the value, the more light can go in and be used to produce amazing images even in low-light conditions.

Obviously, iPhone 15 Pro Max received upgrades to deliver top-tier performance. The display should no longer drain much battery while the upgraded modem should transfer data with less punishment on the device.
Battery Performance
This is very important to all phone users in the world. Between two gigantic iPhones, iPhone 15 Pro Max holds more power than the former king. As mentioned, it’s equipped with 4852mAh and supports 30w wired charging, 15w wireless MagSafe, and 7.5w wireless Qi.
While the iPhone 15 Pro Max definitely has more juice than its predecessor, we can’t determine how well it will perform in the real world. There are so many factors that can affect battery life, but we hope iPhone 15 Pro Max can handle these without an effort.
Bottom Line
iPhone 15 Pro Max is the “maximum” upgrade an iPhone user can get this year. It has everything from camera and performance to battery, and of course, a solid ecosystem. However, owners of the iPhone 14 Pro Max should think twice because the upgrades between these are marginal. With the current OS available for iPhone 14 Pro Max, there’s no real rush to get an iPhone 15 Pro Max.
That said, the option is yours and if you can handle the $100 price increase, why not? Plus, iPhone 15 Pro Max units heading to the Philippines are not free of SIM cards on launch. Apple kept the physical SIM tray of iPhone 15 Pro Max for international markets.
I definitely recommend upgrading to iPhone 15 Pro Max from iPhone 13 and earlier or from an old Android flagship from a brand that hardly makes any effort in software upgrades. Just prepare your pockets before moving to this device.
