Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro announced – With huge upgrades!

Together with the release of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Xiaomi also introduced the Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro tablets. The new slates improve on their predecessors in several major ways, including new chipsets, better screens, and a brand-new look that was influenced by the Xiaomi 13 series phones.

Both tablets pack 11-inch IPS LCDs with 1800 x 2880 px resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate 16:10 aspect ratio. The Pro model gets a snappier 144Hz refresh rate while the vanilla retains the 120Hz from the Xiaomi Pad 5 series. We’re not sure if this was a good decision as 144Hz might not even be usable outside browsing the home screen or social media apps. Not a lot of games support 144FPS and we don’t even think the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is enough to push games to go that high. This will also heavily affect battery life but then you could always switch to a lower refresh rate anytime.

Speaking of the processor the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro gets last year’s flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset while the Xiaomi Pad 6 is equipped with the Snapdragon 870 SoC – which can still slightly contend with the SD 8+ Gen 1 chipset! Both tablets boot MIUI Pad 14 based on Android 13. Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro brings an 8,600 mAh battery with 67W charging while the Pad 6 packs an even larger 8,840 mAh cell but with slower 33W charging. The charging speed on the Pro version is a huge advantage as it allows for a less painful charging wait especially with it having a massive 8,600 mAh battery.

Pad 6 Pro gets a 50MP main cam on the back and a new 20MP front-facing sensor with auto-tracking to follow you during video calls. Pad 6 is left with a 13MP rear sensor and an 8MP front-facing camera. Both tablets come with quad-speaker setups with Dolby Atmos which allows for an immersive cinematic experience ~

Xiaomi also announced a new keyboard case and a second-generation smart pen accessory with lower input latency, longer battery life, and improved wear resistance on the pen tip – A HUGE PLUS FOR DIGITAL ARTISTS!!! 😍😍😍

Both tablets are available on pre-order in China while open sales are set to begin on April 21. International pricing and availability were not detailed but eventually it will make it to the Philippines just like the Xiaomi 5. You should definitely wait for the Xiaomi Pad 6 Series as they provide substantial upgrades from their predecessor especially the Pro version. We also think that Xiaomi’s tablet are the only best bang for the buck high specced android tablets on the market right now which is rare.
