National Geographic and several Disney channels end broadcast in SEA

In the Philippines, viewers will no longer have access to multiple Disney channels, including National Geographic, on television

To summarize, an advisory posted on the MySKY website on September 13 informed the public that The Walt Disney Company had decided to discontinue the broadcast of several Disney TV channels in Southeast Asia (SEA), including the Philippines, starting from October 1, 2023, which is today.

As of today, October 1, 2023, The Walt Disney Company has terminated the broadcasting of various Disney TV channels in the Philippines.

The affected channels are as follows:

  1. Baby TV
  2. National Geographic
  3. National Geographic Wild
  4. Star Chinese Movies
  5. Star Chinese Channel

The last transmission date for these channels was yesterday, September 30, 2023, at precisely 11:59:59 PM.

It’s important to note that these channels will no longer be available for new Select subscriptions on SKY.

As an alternative, SKY is suggesting viewers consider these channels: ZooMoo, Cartoonito, History, and others.

In 2021, Disney made a similar move in order to shift its focus to streaming services.
